Float centres vary more than they look from a booking page. A few simple checks help you pick one you will be comfortable in.
Hygiene and water treatment
The water is filtered and treated between every float, and the high salt content is part of that. It is fair to ask a centre how they filter and sanitise between sessions — a good venue will answer happily.
Tank or open room
Some venues use enclosed pods, others use open float rooms you can stand up in. If enclosed spaces are not for you, an open room makes a first float much easier. Ask which they have before booking.
What else to check
Session length, and how much of it is float versus shower time.
Whether the price is per session or there are intro rates and packs.
Whether the room is private and how change facilities are set up.
